Reference: Hornibrook, Brazier & Strong 1989, p.158, Fig. 37:11 (Topotype).

Synonymy: 1939, Siphogenerina prisca. Trans. Roy. Soc. N. Z. 69(1): 110, pl. 13, fig. 48- 51.

Description: Short triserial initial part followed by a long uniserial stage. They are typically costate, are round in cross section, and have a tubular lipped aperture with an internal toothplate.

Comparison: The earliest species [R. prisca] is relatively small and illustrates an early evolutionary stage of Rectuvigerina when it had not yet developed the long regular uniserial stage typical of later species.

Distribution: Bortonian to Kaiatan.
