.

Reference: Hornibrook, Brazier & Strong 1989, p.135, Fig. 25:1a-e (Holotype).

Synonymy: 1939, Globigerina linaperta var. turgida, Trans. Roy. Soc. N. Z. 69(1): 125;

1964, Globorotaloides turgidus, Jenkins, Contrib. Cushman Fdn, 15(3): 117, pl. 7, figs. 1a-10b; pl. 8, figs. 1c-13c.

Description: The juvenile stage is like Globorotalia with an interio-marginal primary aperture, followed by the Globigerina-like stage with an umbilical aperture. A bulla often covers the umbilical area hiding the primary aperture and opening towards the penultimate chamber.

Distribution: Teurian to Kaiatan?.

Comment: Jenkins demonstrated dimorphism between the microspheric and megalospheric forms. In the former the bulla tends to be more inflated without a lip. Large, typical populations (0.65 mm) with well developed bullae, appear in the Porangan. Fig. 25:1a-e shows two juvenile microspheric specimens and the holotype which is megalospheric.
