Description: Populations referred to this taxon show a range of morphology from somewhat planoconvex or subconical to biconvex with rounded peripheries usually with four and a half chambers in the final whorl.

Comparison: Populations are distinguished from G. conomiozea by their more rounded shape and slightly higher, arched apertures and from G. puncticulata by lower arched apertures and the presence of weak peripheral keels visible on the final chambers.

Distribution: Upper Kapitean.

Comment: An intermediate form in the evolution of G. conoidea and G. conomiozea into G. puncticulata s.s. found in the lower reversed interval of the Gilbert Chron.
