Description: Typically subquadrate, rounded and convex on ventral side, gently convex on spiral side, periphery rounded, unkeeled, aperture a moderately high, weakly rimmed arch, four chambers in final whorl.
Comparison: Earliest populations in the basal reversed interval of the Gilbert Chron are distinguished from G. sphericomiozea by their more rounded, unkeeled periphery and higher arched aperture and from G. infiata by the lower arched aperture, and more compressed test with more chambers.
Distribution: Opoitian to Waipipian.
Comment: The range given here is for typical populations. Morphotypes close to puncticulata also occur in populations of G. puncticuloides.
