Reference: Hornibrook, Brazier & Strong 1989, p.126, Fig. 24:1a-c.

Synonymy: 1964, Rev. Ital. Pal. Strat. Milan 70(1): 105, pl. 2, fig. 8a-c (Parvularugoglobigerina, Planorotalites, Subbotina).

Description: Distinguished by the exceedingly minute low spired form consisting of two whorls with six chambers in the final whorl; surface finely papillate.

Distribution: Teurian.

Comment: Specimens closely resembling this species originally described from the basal Danian, have been found, very rare, at the base of the Teurian in the Middle Waipara (see Strong 1984, N.Z. jl. geol. geophys. 27: 231-234). Easily missed because of its minute size. See also G. pauciloculata.
