Synonymy: N.Z. jl. geol. geophys. 8(5): 839, fig. 1-3;

1985, Leckie and Webb, Jl. foram. res. 15(2): 65-78.

Description: Distinguished by the tiny subspherical smooth form with three and a half chambers in the final whorl; sutures slightly depressed and containing rows of small apertural openings; no primary aperture.

Distribution: Porangan to Lower Whaingaroan.

Comment: Possibly a homeomorph of Candeina nitida which appears in the Miocene, although Leckie and Webb (1985) propose a connection through a lineage beginning with C. cecionii (Lower Eocene, Chile) and continuing through C. zeocenica and C. antarctica (Upper Oligocene to Middle Miocene).
